Legacy Synopsis
Set in 1970s London during the height of the Cold War, Legacy is a gripping espionage thriller directed by Pete Travis (Dredd, Endgame, Omagh), with a screenplay by Paula Milne (The Virgin Queen, Small Island, Endgame). Adapted from Alan Judd’s novel and commissioned as part of BBC Two’s Cold War season, the 90-minute film stars Charlie Cox, Andrew Scott, Simon Russell Beale and Romola Garai.
1974 – the middle of the Cold War. Charles Thoroughgood (Cox), a trainee spy in MI6’s Britain’s Secret Service, is asked to revive his former friendship with Russian Diplomat Viktor Koslov (Scott) with a view to “turning” him. When Viktor reveals a shocking truth about Charles’ family that threatens to derail him both personally and professionally, Charles is catapulted into a dangerous personal odyssey to uncover the truth.
